General Health Measures

If you experience symptoms such as fever, onset or worsening of cough, difficulty breathing, or any other symptoms similar to COVID-19, please do not come in.

Wash or disinfect your hands regularly.

Cough into a mask, sleeve or tissue.

Discard used tissues and disposable masks.

Wearing a mask

Wearing a mask is not mandatory but is recommended as it reduces the risk of infection.

Distancing

Maintain a distance of at least 1 meter (about 3 feet) from others as much as possible. If physical separation is not possible, it is recommended to wear a mask or face shield.

Fan Zone and Closing Party

The entire entertainment program has been revised and will be located outside if weather permits to minimize gatherings and risky contacts.

Sports and medal presentations

For medal presentations, the medal must be taken by the athlete or given by the athlete’s coach or chaperone. Handshakes, hugs or other contact between medal awarding officials, coaches
medal presenters, guests and participants should be avoided.

Procedure in case of symptoms

Volunteers and Sport Leaders

In the event of symptoms, all persons must isolate themselves and not come to the competition sites.

  1. Notify the person in charge, according to your status:
    Sports leaders: Aude Dubois, project manager

Sector leaders: Paule Tremblay, logistics manager or Ève Cortellessa, volunteer manager

Site managers : The sector manager with whom you are in contact

Fan zone team leader: Eunice Lévesque, participant experience manager

Other volunteers: Ève Cortellessa, volunteer manager

2. Stay home and monitor your symptoms.

If necessary, get tested and notify your supervisor if you test positive and have been in contact with other Montreal Games volunteers and participants.

The person in charge of the health committee will identify, with the help of the members of the organizing committee, the people who had contact with the case during the contagious period.

3. The person in charge of the health committee will contact the identified persons in order to share with them the appropriate recommendations according to their situation.

 

If a child participating in a competition develops symptoms during his/her competition

Step 1:

Isolate the child from other participants and put on a procedure mask.
Contact the parents to pick up the child immediately.
Recommend to the parents that they do a quick test at home
Take the contact information of the parent, the organizing committee will follow up with them to find out the result of the test.

Step 2:

Notify the person in charge, depending on your status:

Step 3:

In case of a positive result, the person in charge of the health committee will identify, with the help of the members of the organizing committee, the people who had contact with the case during the contagious period.

Step 4:

The health committee leader will contact the identified individuals to share the appropriate recommendations based on their situation.
