Volunteer Position Descriptions

TEAM LEADER – SPORTS & LOGISTICS

Assists the organizing committee in coordinating competition venues. Ensures that competitions run smoothly. Also handles certain on-site logistics.

Desired Profile: Available, experience in volunteer management, resourceful and autonomous, valid driver’s license, comfortable traveling between multiple competition sites.

COMPETITION SITE MANAGER

Ensures proper management of their assigned competition site. Assists the sports representative as needed and coordinates on-site volunteers.

Desired Profile: Experience in volunteer management, resourceful and autonomous, solution-oriented.

EQUIPMENT TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS ASSISTANT

Helps with equipment handling and transportation between competition sites. Prepares boxes of small equipment to be distributed on-site. Assists with event setup and teardown.

Desired Profile: Versatile, resourceful, autonomous, a valid driver’s license is an asset.

PARKING ATTENDANT – CLOSING CEREMONY

Manages vehicle traffic in front of the Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard. Since the street is closed, they must handle exceptions for authorized vehicles.

Desired Profile: Assertive and courteous.

TEAM LEADER – FAN ZONE

Oversees the overall coordination of the fan zone. Welcomes partners and addresses their needs, manages the on-site volunteer team, ensures setup and teardown are completed on time, and maintains the quality and safety of activities.

Desired Profile: Available, experience in volunteer and event management, resourceful, autonomous, diplomatic, solution-oriented.

CLOSING CEREMONY MANAGER

Assists the participant experience coordinator during the closing ceremony. Coordinates suppliers and volunteers, manages delegation movements, oversees logistics, ensures timely setup and teardown, and maintains event quality and safety.

Desired Profile: Efficient, resourceful, assertive, sociable, stress-resistant, diplomatic, solution-oriented. Event management experience is an asset.

CEREMONY ATTENDANT

Welcomes and directs delegation movements, helps distribute snacks, sports banners, and raffle tickets, and assists with the athlete parade. Ensures children’s safety.

Desired Profile: Efficient, resourceful, assertive, sociable. Experience in public engagement.

ACTIVITY HOST

Leads an activity in the fan zone and/or during the closing ceremony. Warmly welcomes children, explains the activity rules, engages participants, and ensures their safety. Assists with setup and teardown as needed.

Desired Profile: Outgoing, experience in hosting and working with children, energetic, and friendly.

PARTICIPANT & PUBLIC GREETER

Welcomes and guides participants and spectators at the Jeux de Montréal. Answers questions and explains event programming. Serves as a key information source at event sites.

Desired Profile: Sociable, experience in customer service, welcoming, diplomatic, problem-solving skills.

MASCOT ATTENDANT

Accompanies and guides the Jeux de Montréal’s mascot during its appearances.

Desired Profile: Patient, assertive, experience in customer service, sociable, valid driver’s license.

BOUTIQUE MANAGER

Handles sales of promotional items for the Jeux de Montréal.

Desired Profile: Sociable, experience in sales and customer service, welcoming, proactive, responsible.

PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER

Welcomes and assists ambassadors during their visit to the Jeux de Montréal.

Desired Profile: Resourceful, strong communicator, welcoming, and friendly.

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Manages the Jeux de Montréal’s social media presence.

Desired Profile: Creative, proficient in Instagram and Facebook, excellent written French, experience in social media management is an asset.

TEAM LEADER – VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT

Assists the volunteer coordinator in managing the volunteer team. Helps with training, interviews (if available in February, March and April), oversees the volunteer lounge, and supports on-site volunteer management during the event.

Desired Profile: Available, experience in volunteer management, resourceful, autonomous.

VOLUNTEER LOUNGE COORDINATOR

Helps coordinate the volunteer lounge, welcomes volunteers, distributes meals, and fills in for absent volunteers when needed.

Desired Profile: Experience in volunteer management, welcoming, resourceful, friendly.
