Les Jeux de Montréal are the first competitive sports events for thousands of young Montrealers aged 6 to 12 . This event brings together several thousand young people (participation in qualifications and finals) and spectators. It presents 18 sports on 13 competition sites.

Mission

Founded and supported by la Ville de Montréal since 1978, les Jeux de Montréal are a legacy of the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games.

Multisport competition, it is a golden opportunity for young people to live a first experience of sports competition in high-level Montreal facilities. These environments promote a physically active lifestyle in a stimulating and positive environment.

Objectives

The vision of the Montreal Games is to inspire and inspire young people to pursue physical activity and a healthy and active lifestyle.

Ignite the flame of sport by organizing competitions between delegations, boroughs and related cities, such as the Olympic Games between nations.

Its values are respect, participation, sportsmanship, athletic performance and perseverance.

The success of the Montreal Games relies on the active collaboration of partners and stakeholders: delegations (boroughs and related cities), the sports community (regional associations, federations, clubs, coaches, volunteers and administrators), local institutions and financial partners.

Organization

Since 2018, the management of this event is attributed to Sports Montreal (NPO) whose organization agreement for the next 3 editions (2024 to 2026) was signed in September 2023.

A non-profit organization and partner of the City of Montreal for over 25 years, the corporation’s mission is to foster a passion for physical activity from an early age by creating positive, educational and accessible sports experiences.
His vision is to be known and recognized as an important partner in the organization and development of physical and sports activities for Montrealers and to increase their level of activity.
